The World Needs A Hero

In a time where the economy is tanking, madmen are running rampant in the streets and corruption flourishes in the highest levels of the government, it has become clear that now is a time where a hero is needed. The fact that The Dark Knight is inching over a billion dollars worldwide shows how desperate people are for someone who can save the day.

But in the real world, who could stand up to the forces of evil?

Who could answer the call to save this country?

Where can we find a millionaire playboy who's willing to risk everything he has to save the world?

He may not resemble an ordinary super hero- he can't fly, shoot lasers from his eyes or talk to fish. He doesn't resemble any of the guys on the dollar bills either. He's not Batman, he's not Superman. He's not George Bush. He's...

That's right, the official Barack Obama comic book has hit store shelves, and they're sellin' like hotcakes!

Facing down evil in all its forms, both foreign and domestic...

...the great Obama travels the country, making people believe, while still finding ways to live up to his Hollywood playboy status:

It's an amazing story, full of whimsey and wonder, and everything you could want from a comic book hero!

Well, to be honest, this issue was a little dull... but I understand that it takes time to build the back-story of a great hero. It was basically an illustrated history of the man's life, drawing largely from his two books (which is where most of the word-bubble quotes came from). Interesting, for sure, but there was a severe lack of BANG! and BIFF! action scenes, he never faced off against the Brotherhood of Mutants, and his ability to bowl seemed highly suspect (a 37? Can we get the man some bumpers on his lane?).

Local comic book fans doubt that it will lead to a series, but with these babies selling out around town, it's something that can only be inevitable.

So be sure to watch your comic book store shelves for next month's issue, where The Incredible Obama searches for truth and justice in the Justice Department. Rumor has it that the writers will reveal Obama's trusty sidekick, The Amazing MouseMan!
